We are a small friendly hunt in rural Wiltshire. Working within the law, hunting days usually provide good sport for all. Although we have members of all ages, we particularly welcome children and younger people to the Hunt. Children under the age of 14 must however be accompanied by an adult. We provide for non-jumping riders by having a knowledgeable escort to indicate alternative routes.
A dedicated band of foot followers are a great asset to the Wilton. We have a large number that we are delighted to see out in 4*4's, cars, bicycles, and even on foot.
This year's show will again be held at the Showfield, Breamore on Saturday 7th July. Classes for all. Enquiries to Colette Bunch The results of the Wilton Hunt Show 2011 are now available on the Events and Results Page. |

HUNT STAFF BENEFIT SOCIETY LITTLE HUNTING HANDBOOK "Everything you wanted to know about Hunting but never dared ask" Many new people are hunting today. They may not have been brought up in a hunting country and it may sound strange for them to hear a person say 'Goodnight' at 9am after a morning of Autumn Hunting. They may wonder why the Master gets so upset when they gallop over a lovely green field that is not actually grass. Or why it is important to thank that scruffy person holding the gate - because he might just turn out to be your host! Each Hunt may vary slightly but the manners and dress of hunting have evolved over the centuries to be practical and are based on a great deal of common sense. Hunting is about having fun and at the same time respecting the privilege of being allowed to cross our green and pleasant land. The Little Hunting Handbook has been produced to raise funds for the Hunt Staff Benefit Society. There are photographs on every spread, all kindly donated by some of the best photographers in the hunting world. The foreword is by Jeremy Irons and it is intended to be full of helpful information and to be entertaining at the same time.To order, please go to : http://www.mfha.org.uk/hunt-staff-benefit-society/fundraising-and-events/hunt-staff-benefit-society-little-hunting-handbook/ |

Painting of the Wilton Hunt discovered.
| The Wilton Hounds at Gallows Hill Painted in 1926 by Lionel Edwards This stunning painting has come to light thanks to the keen detective work of Christopher Egremont. He has kindly written about its provenance (below) and liaised with its owner Michael Allfrey. Mr Allfrey is allowing, us very generously, to make limited edition prints and cards from the picture to raise funds for the hunt. We are currently exploring costs and it would help greatly if we had an idea of demand. More detailed information and The picture (this will take some time to load |
